This week on the Virtual Skeptics:
- Bob sells his electric guitar to buy Eve a golden hair clasp;
- Eve shaves her head to buy Bob an amp;
- Sharon will bring up random and completely NON controversial topics of discussion
- and Tim is presumably boxing stuff
Special Guest: Barbara Drescher – cognitive psychologist, former scientist and lecturer at California State University, Northridge, National Science Foundation Fellow, and blogger at ICBSEverywhere.com.

I don’t have a problem with people making an effort to include folks from different backgrounds (gender, age, socioeconomic background, physicality); oftentimes folks ask the same old people because they are the folks they already know. Sometimes suggesting that one look a little harder to find good speakers includes a whole new group of folks. The vitriol, however, I suspect doesn’t help much. I don’t see the chat, so these might be repeated comments.
Is there a chat room somewhere?
We don’t really have a chatroom, but we try to watch twitter (hashtag #virtualskeptics or @VirtualSkeptics) and the youtube comments during the show.
I made a mistake on the rhino horn poisoning thing. The poison can come from preservatives from the museum horn or from people who put poison into the horn of the living animal. Regardless, you never know what you’re going to get with any traditional meds. They are unregulated. http://www.voanews.com/content/bad-medicine-museum-rhino-horns-pose-consumer-risk/1556390.html
